"This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to everyone that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body…”
-Preface to Leaves of Grass, Walt Whitman

My Best Friends

Today I made a trip to some used bookstores. This is what I found...

Ah. I just love books.

Also I just finished season two of my favorite television show. Grey's Anatomy. Can we please have a moment of silence for Denny... Oh how I love him so! I've seen all of the seasons before, some multiple times, but I still get emotional over the characters and their overly dramatic lives. I know it sounds silly, but if you've ever seen it you would completely agree. It's simply amazing.

Period.

How Utterly Fantastic

Dear Reader,

I am starting a new adventure. This is an adventure of adventure (yes, an adventure of adventure), trying new things, stepping outside of my 'box' and other starting anew euphemisms.

In the recent weeks I've been thinking about things and have come to the conclusion that I want more. I don't mean to sound like Ariel ("Wouldn't you think I'm the girl, the girl who has everything.... But who cares? No big deal! I WANT MORE!" Ariel is my favorite Disney princess, but you must admit, she is a little spoiled. I mean, her dad is the king of the ocean and she has everything the could possibly want, including a bod that is hot enough to wear sea shells as a bra, but she still wants. Okay. Greedy Ariel rant over). I am grateful for all that I have. But I want to be doing more, and more specifically doing things that I normally wouldn't do.

So, here I am.

I am writing a blog in hopes that it will be somewhat of a creative outlet for me... we will see. And who knows who will even read this. Probably only my stunningly beautiful and amazing sister who unknowingly gives me a complex. And I'm okay with that. Because really, this is for me. But, I would be happy to share my adventurous adventure with others if they are so inclined to follow along.

So Reader, if you have made it this far, I congratulate you. I hope that you will keep reading!

Peace and Blessings
